Can you tell me if I am going Blind?

kids learning 4 70%

Just by looking at a child you can not tell if there is anything wrong with their eyesight. Just because that child can see well enough to get around the house and see large objects, does not mean they can see well enough to tell the difference between one object and another.

There is no way for your child to let you know they are having problems with their eyesight.

By screening the child’s eyes with special screening instruments, we can determine if the child has a condition that may lead to amblyopia, commonly referred to as Lazy Eye, or any other eye diseases. Through accurate interpretation of the screening results, we can help prevent blindness in these children with early detection and appropriate care.

The Lions of Louisiana have screened over seventy-seven thousand (77,000) children since the inception of the program. The Louisiana Lions Cubsight Program is sponsored by the Lions Clubs International Foundation, Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, Louisiana State University Health Science Center, Louisiana Office of Public Health, and the local Lions Clubs of Louisiana.

The Lions can set up a screening at your school, church or private organization. Please contact the CubSight Director or your local Lions Club to schedule a screening.
